Het nieuwe jaar is begonnen. 2016 als we ons niet vergissen. Terugkijken doen we niet, we gaan het liefst hard vooruit. Wat dacht je van het volgende raceseizoen. De goede tijden, slechte tijden in de MotoGP story gaat gewoon door. In Engeland rijden ze de vouw uit de broek van dorpsbewoners tijdens de straatraces daar. In Nederland hebben we eind mei de Ducati Club Race op asfalt in Assen. De 37'ste keer voor wie het weten wil. Best leuk dingen te zien waar als je van Ducati houdt. Nu zijn er plannen om de komende DCR 2016 iets leuks te organiseren. De echte Ducati liefhebber kent vast de TT. Daarin hangt het Pantah blokje en het was de eerste model met het kenmerkende Ducati buizenframe waar de echte Ducati liefhebber nu nog steeds een nat plekje van in de broek krijgt. Deze Ducati was begin en half jaren tachtig onverslaanbaar in BOTT races en endurance met o.a Walter Villa en Marco Luchinelli in het zadel. Nu willen een paar Ducati freaks een eigen race organiseren met allemaal Ducati TT's en de straatversie daarvan met de naam F1. Daarvoor zijn wel minimaal 30 rijders nodig met de genoemde machines. Zoveel zijn er niet in Nederland uiteraard. Daarvoor is een persbericht de hele wereld rondgegaan. Mocht je toevallig zo'n TT / F1 in de schuur hebben staan en willen meerijden. Laat even weten voor 17 januari en kijk na de sprong.
Ducati TT / F1 Race and Symposium
Ducati’s most iconic race bike is coming home to the famous TT Assen circuit in the last weekend of May as part of the 37th Ducati Clubrace. Ducati’s belt driven Pantah engine became an unbeatable race machine in the early 80’s when its famous Trellis frame saw the light. In the hands of Walter Gussigh, Tony Rutter, Walter Villa, Juan Garriga, Marco Luchinelli, Jimmy Adamo and many others. Ducati reigned in the TT2 and Bott races all over the world in the first half of the 80’s and scored high in TT1 and Endurance. Most notable of this period is the TT2 world championships in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984 won by Tony Rutter on famous circuits like Isle of Man but also on the iconic Assen TTtrack.
The belt driven engine and trellis frame have become the basics and design signature for all Ducati’s build the 30 years after the first Ducati TT2 appeared in 1981. Therefore the TT2 can be seen as quintessential bike in Ducati’s history. With most race bikes going into retirement Ducati’s TT’s are having a true revival with many bikes being build the past decade and raced in classic race events all over the world. Ducati’s mid 80-s street version of the TT, the F1’s, is seen as one of the most iconic and best handling road bikes ever build and found the track as its naturalhabitat.
With 7 TT / F1 Symposium being held in the USA and 2 in the UK we will go one step further with organizing the first ever TT / F1 race ever and combine this with the 3rd European TT / F1 Symposium during the 37th Ducati Clubrace in Assen, theNetherlands.
The objective until mid-January is to list how many people are interested to race, with a field of 30 riders we will get our own class during the event, with less might be in a combined race with other Italian young timer bikes. Last year already 14 TT’s and F1’s participated in variousclasses.
The actual registration will be at a later date in 2016, when you are on the list of interested riders we keep youupdated.

The TT / F1 race is to support the spirit of the best race Ducati ever build and consists of the following types, displacement and technicalspecifications:
- TT Open; 2 valve belt drive Ducati engines with carburetors and the rear carburetor facing the rear side of the engine, engine in the known Trellis frame of anymake
- TT1; 601 – 750 cc 2 valve belt drive engines with carburetors and the rear carburetor facing the rear of the engine. TT1 racers, F1’s, DB1’s and other Pantah engine race / track machines arewelcome
- TT2; 350 – 600 cc 2 valve belt drive engines with carburetors and the rear carburetor facing the rear of the engine. TT2 racers, F3’s and other Pantah engine race / track machines arewelcome
Noise regulation is max 104 dB (A), according to the FIM measuring methodology in a static situation. The short license course is for those who have no race license but track experience. The race will be on profile tires, tire warmers are allowed, no slicks or raintires.

For these costs you will get camping in the paddock near the Symposium tent, free shower and refreshment facilities, electric connection and extra access of the event for one mechanical helper and 2 visitors (at least 12,50 Euro per ticket). And a T-shirt of theevent.
Yes JWith a field of TT’s and F1’s in this unique first time race, a fantastic weekend with friends and enthusiasts from all over the world and the atmosphere of the Cathedral of Speed we are all winners. When we have reached our goal mid-January to have enough interested riders we have lots of ideas to build around it a fantastic event.
